I have lived in Allington with my wife and daughter since I moved from London in 2002. Like many people from Maidstone, I do the daily commute to London where I work at the Victoria & Albert Museum as the Equality and Access Advisor.

Since moving to Maidstone, I have been a member of the Maidstone Borough Council’s Disability Focus Group; I am a Trustee of the Maidstone Relief in Need charity; and a former Governor at Maplesden Noakes High School.

I am focusing on local issues which benefit Allington and the town to make this area an even better place to live and work! For many years now, I have been assisting residents by resolving many of their issues such as anti-social behaviour, inconsiderate parking, street lighting, fly tipping, over grown bushes and trees and dog fowling to name a few. Being able to resolve these issues and assist resident’s means people can enjoy the environment in which they live.

Housing

Concerns have been raised in regards to the proposed new homes in Allington. I would like to see a reduction in the number of proposed houses and have suggested alternative sites but I would like to also see affordable homes in Allington. Where will our children and grandchildren live in the future if new homes aren’t built?

Car Parking

I have received many complaints in regards to cars parking on pavements and grass verges, some of which I have been able to resolve. I support the Guide Dogs for the Blind campaigned to introduce a new law to prevent vehicles parking on pavements, making it safer for all pedestrians.

Dog Fouling

I have received complaints about dogs fouling the footpaths and private gardens. Please dog walkers pick up and bag the mess, then put it in the bin! If I can pick up the poo, so can you.

Allington is currently represented by three Liberal Democrat Councillors. I firmly believe Allington would benefit from a Councillor from the Conservative group who: can achieve true benefits for Allington rather than just criticising Council decisions; abstaining from important local votes; or not representing residents by not attending council meetings.

If you need my assistance with local issues, please do contact me, I am happy to help.

If you want someone who continues to work for you and is looking to the future, then please vote for me on Thursday 7 May.
